Steel Magnolias

By Robert Harling

April 21, 22, 27**, 28, 29, 30*, May 4**, 5, 6, 7*, 2017

The action is set in Truvy's beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana, where all the ladies who are "anybody" come to have their hair done. Meet outspoken, wise-cracking Truvy; her eager new assistant, Annelle; the town's rich curmudgeon, Ouiser; an eccentric millionaire, Miss Clairee, who has a raging sweet tooth; the local social leader, M'Lynn; and her daughter, Shelby, who’s about to marry a "good ole boy." A first play which met with immediate critical and popular acceptance in its premier production by New York's WPA Theatre, it is alternately hilarious and touching - and, in the end, deeply revealing of the strength and purposefulness which underlies the antic banter of its characters.

The talented cast includes Amy Noel Johnson, Chelsae Baxley, Kelley Norman, Sara Beth Summers, Gloria Ware and Brooks Anne Hayes Meierdierks under the direction of Lee Hamby.

All performances 8:00pm, except:  *Matinee performance 2:00pm | **Evening performances 7:30pm
