LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEXT 100 YEARS
WITH OUR OPERATING ENDOWMENT CAMPAIGN
For over a century, Theatre Jacksonville has been providing quality community theatre to the city of Jacksonville – enriching countless lives through entertainment, education and civic engagement. As Theatre Jacksonville looks forward to the future, it wants to build a strong foundation that will ensure endowed funds to support theater operations, just as endowed funds currently support the theater building.
Thank you for joining us to ensure that we embark on our next 100 years!
THEATRE JACKSONVILLE
ONE OF THE COUNTRY'S OLDEST
CONTINUALLY-RUNNING COMMUNITY THEATERS
As one of the country’s oldest continually-running community theaters, Theatre Jacksonville relies on a small paid staff, which is amplified by the time and talents of hundreds of volunteers each year. This staff provides all day-to-day management needs – including theater operations, administrative and artistic responsibilities, performance production, box office management and educational programs – in addition to maintaining the invaluable connections that make Theatre Jacksonville a vital part of Jacksonville’s artistic community life.
More than half the theater’s income to support these operations comes from grants and individual contributions. Since 2000, the theater has operated in the black due to the incredible diligence and stewardship of its staff.
THEATRE JACKSONVILLE
A PLACE OF INSPIRATION FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS
It is truly rare for a community institution such as Theatre Jacksonville to operate continuously for 100 years. An operational endowment would allow the theater to invest in services, programs and human capital to sustain and grow Theatre Jacksonville’s outreach well into the next 100. Act II will create the financial flexibility needed to ensure the organization remains nimble, relevant and, most importantly, a place of inspiration for future generations.
HELP US MOVE FORWARD
INTO THE NEXT 100 YEARS
Just as Theatre Jacksonville began a century ago with a generous donation from Carl Swisher, which enabled the construction of the iconic “Little Theatre” building, this operating endowment began with a generous donation from the Weaver Family Fund through the Community Foundation. With a matching grant of $310,000, the Weavers promised a $1 match for every $3 raised. Please join the thousands of North Florida residents who are touched by Theatre Jacksonville each year and make a one-time donation toward the 100 Year Operating Endowment.
Thank you for moving us into our Act II, the next 100 years.
