SEASON 102 | 2022

We are thrilled to once again return to in-person performances beginning this fall, and our carefully selected Mainstage offerings for this next season honor the best of the theater, span many generations and cultures and tap into many thought-provoking issues and emotions. What better way to emerge on the other side of these challenging times than to return to community theater and support invaluable fine arts in our region.

Please note MASKS ARE REQUIRED the entire time you visit the playhouse.

A Walk in the Woods, opening January 27, 2022

Written by Lee Blessing

Directed by Michael Beaman

This passionate and unexpectedly humorous play follows informal meetings and a subsequent friendship between two arms negotiators, one Russian and one American, at the height of the Cold War. Their absorbing and revealing conversations bring to light elemental questions around political truths, differences and power.

Slow Food, opening February 25, 2022

Written by Wendy McLeod

Directed by Joe Kemper

This delicious comedy about an absurdly long dinner makes the audience wonder if Irene and Peter, who are celebrating their anniversary in a trendy Palm Springs restaurant, will ever get their food – and more importantly, if their relationship will survive the “hangry” tension resulting from the awful service.

The Sweet Delilah Swim Club, opening April 22, 2022

Written by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten

Directed by Amy Love

A touching play spanning four August weekends across 33 years in which five Southern women – longtime friends from their college swim team – meet to recharge their friendship. When fate throws a wrench into one of their lives, the comedy takes a poignant and surprising direction.

Ragtime, opening June 10, 2022

Based on E.L. Doctorow’s novel, the timeless production was written by the award-winning composer/lyricist team of Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens and by noted playwright Terrence McNally.

Directed and Choreographed by Curtis J. Williams

Winner of several Tony awards and other accolades, this toe-tapping musical weaves together three distinctly American tales – those of a stifled upper-class wife, a determined Jewish immigrant and a daring young Harlem musician – who together confront timeless contradictions such as wealth and poverty, freedom and prejudice, and hope and despair.
