About the authors:
Mary Maguire
Mary started her career as an advertising copywriter at Chiat/Day, Los Angeles, under acclaimed ad man Jay Chiat. She moved to television as a production assistant on WKRP in Cincinnati and later wrote two episodes that aired its first season. She worked for a variety of advertising agencies on the West Coast then moved into health care administration. When she found herself divorced after a 30-year marriage, she chronicled her dating experiences. The result is Love Quest. She has enough material for many sequels and is still writing her happy ending.
Steven McGraw
Steven’s teleplay “Miles from Nowhere”, an autobiographical family drama, was produced by New World International, and starred Rick Schroder and James Farentino. It first aired on CBS, and won a Christopher Award for writing. The story was also published by William Morrow as a novel titled “Totaled.” His screenplay, “Pendragon” won in the action/adventure category at The Breckenridge Film Festival, Table Read My Screenplay in Park City, and the White Nights Russian Film Festival.
Due to the popularity of the HBO series “Boardwalk Empire”, Steven was commissioned by Academy Bus to write a two character historic docudrama about Nucky Johnson. It was performed on a trolley circling Atlantic City visiting Nucky's favorite haunts. The New York Times called it “funny and informative”.
Steven has presented some of Off Broadway’s longest running hits at his cabaret theatre in Manhattan. Among them are “Forbidden Broadway”, “Forever Plaid,” and Frank McCourt and Malachy McCourt’s “A Couple of Blaguards” which toured the country for ten years.
Steven is a graduate of Notre Dame.
